Undergraduate students, Nicole Elinoff, Samantha Daley and UCF alumni Emily Vrotsos presented their research at the National Conference for College Women Student Leaders at the University of Maryland, College Park this past June 2. The undergraduate research team was headed by principal investigator Meredith Tweed and co-investigator, Maria Roman.
This campus-wide campaign on anti-bullying brought more than 100 5th graders to UCF for a one-day training. UCF was one of seven universities receiving funding in a national grant from the American Association of University Women (AAUW) to complete a Pay Gap Panel, Middle School anti-bullying campaigns and a one-day training for 5th graders on 4 elementary schools in Seminole County. The Orlando/Winter Park AAUW branch and Women's Studies Professor M.C. Santana as their College/University Representative were the national connections to the grant.
Thanks to the generous support of the UCF's Women's Research Center and the Orlando/Winter Park AAUW one of the research team students was able to attend the conference. The rest of the members were paid by the national grant CAP/AAUW granted in January 2012.
