UCF African American Studies' James Weldon Johnson Lecture Series presents a lecture by Dr. Vibert White.

The Trayvon Martin Rallies were patented as the core for a new civil rights movement in the United States. Activist from Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to members of the New Black Panther Party moblelized to challenge Sanford's Police Department blatant violation of Martin's civil rights. However, unknown to the general Black community the movement was manipulated and directed by various local, state and federal agencies that negated the spirit and intent of a grassroots civil rights protest.
